About the Project
The Project......The idea came on rather quickly. I was having a discussion with a friend of mine that was miserable at his job, was overweight, and overall lacked that pep in his step. Immediately, I said ....You Should Train For A Marathon. While he didn't take me up on the offer, I figured I could find others in the same boat that could benefit from setting a long term goal, and the benefits that would come from running and exercising on a daily basis. I put a post on Facebook, looking for overweight, stressed out individuals. Seven people showed up to the first practice, 4 of which had a hard time completing one lap. At the end of the first practice, I gave them the option..Full or Half Marathon? They ALL without hesitation said, FULL. I knew at that moment , I had a hungry group and decided to take them all on board and train them for the Philly 2013 marathon in November. My goal is to get them feeling confident, good about themselves and to enjoy running / exercising on a daily basis. The actual marathon will be the icing on the cake.
